About me

I was Greeter_Dixie from there.com. Old time, Old school Therian that used to work for Makena.. That's just the recent stuff.

Started at the age of 12 with a TRS-80 computer learning how to 'program' in basic, and fell in love with the whole idea of making this box do cool stuff. When the internet became possible for me, I started developing my skills as a programmer by learning languages from COBAL, Fortran, BASIC, C++, Visual Basic... wow.. LISP *ugh*... just to name a few of the oldies.

I made my way into MU* (MOO, MUD, MUSH, MUX) and made a name for myself in those communities as a programmer and developer under several online identities (dietcoke, shadow, dixiechick). As graphical worlds began to take over, slowly and hesitantly, I moved into worlds such as TSO, Everquest, there.com, and Second Life.

When there.com hired me as a Greeter in 2007, I was overjoyed and honoured. I never thought I would actually get the job, and really applied for it on a dare. However, this would prove to be a good thing for me. I have come out of my shell quite a bit. The geek in me has learned a balance between geek and social butterfly, and I'm happy to say that my days working for Makena taught me this.

Now days, I tend to be in Second Life where I am part of a huge family of people who are like minded and just trying to get by. The residual income we make in Second Life is spent trying to better the world around us (in game and out), and we're trying to branch out and find other avenues for our creativity.

Mostly, I work on the aspects of graphic design for many areas to include but not limited to textures for sim design. Check out my pictures on here if you wanna take a look :)

too many to list, but I do like reading things that are not only poetic, but surreal as well

WAY too many to list... anything freakish or odd. I like movies to blow my mind and enhance my creativity

I like music that is upbeat and sparks my intellectual side as well as puts a smile on my face
